Personalize Your News and Access from Any Device with News360

News360is a “next-generation news personalization and aggregation service” that is supported on iPhone, iPad, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry Playbook, Android, and the web. You’ll need to create an account in order to customize it and so that it can “learn from your cloud” sources; you can sign up by connecting with Facebook or Twitter. You’ll also get to custom the web address of your profile, so that you can share it on the web.

Once signed up you’ll want to go to settings, in order to personalize your news and interests. This is done by connecting and analyzing your accounts from Facebook, Twitter, Evernote, and/or Google Reader. This way, News360 can get a better idea of what you like. It will take a few minutes to analyze each of your accounts, especially if you have a lot of topics, notes, and feeds to go through.

When done, topics will be grouped into categories. You can remove, add, drag and drop topics between categories. If you’ve connected all of the above-mentioned accounts, you shouldn’t have to do too much tweaking here.

From the homepage you can get a glimpse of the top stories along with the categories for your interests (in the left sidebar). Clicking on your name in the top left corner will take you to your profile page, which is where you can get a glimpse of a few stories from each of your interests.

Clicking on a story title takes you to a more detailed viewed and gives you various options. You won’t get the full view of the story, you’ll need to click on “Read Original” to go to the actual source in a new tab. You can, however, see more stories in the same category underneath, view tweets (and other sources) relating to the story, save the story to your saved items (for later reading), and/or share it (via Facebook, Twitter, email).

That’s really all there is to News360. I’ve tried the iPad version as well and I enjoy it much more than the web version. Of course, the iPad is my preferred choice for reading news just because of how convenient it is. Whichever you may prefer, I’m sure you’ll agree that News360 is a great tool that can be easily customized to suit your needs.
