In a few days I’m off to Utah…again. It really is one of my all-time favourite places in the world for hiking. And biking too.
Bryce Canyon
We’re going to start in Vegas as it’s the easiest and cheapest place to fly into. From there it’s about a three hour drive to Cedar Breaks National Monument . It’s famous for its painted cliffs and colourful rock columns and spires. We’ll have time for a half day hike before driving on to Boulder, Utah. We’ve got three nights booked at theDuring the day we’ll head out to do a series of day hikes in the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument.

If we have time we hope to make it to Vermilion Cliffs National Monument – home to the The Wave , pictured below.

Next up will be a day spent canyoneering with. I look forward to rappelling down into places accessible only by rope.
And then we’ll have two days to wander the trails ofNational Park, while staying at the. I know on at least one of those days I’ll have to be up before sunrise to grab some shots.
I think you can see from these photos why I’m hooked on hiking in Utah. I’ve already hiked inand loved every minute of it. I wish we had a month and not a week to explore this part of southwest Utah. But I’m sure we’ll be back many more times.

Have you visited either Bryce Canyon National Park or the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument? Any must do hikes?
